Looking forward to a blend of fantasy and reality after watching the new trailer of the Barbie movie
The latest trailer of the Barbie movie has blown our minds and made us believe that life in plastic is, indeed, fantastic but our protagonists are on a quest for something bigger.
After a series of uncanny teasers, the Warner Bros finally have released a full trailer for the upcoming Barbie movie. By the look of it, we can see the charm and happiness in the air of a pink-themed city that these Barbie dolls live in. And yes, everyone’s name here is Barbie or Ken. Everything was going good and then, Barbie starts to question her identity due to experiencing strange things happening to her.
Tired of their too-good plastic world and in aspiration to understand the purpose of life, Margot Robbie’s Barbie and Ryan Gosling’s Ken go on a quest in the real world which is like going beyond the borders of their comfort and understanding. But the reality that they got to experience goes far beyond their imagination and is different from what they have had since forever. No pink buildings, plastic things and happy people. Barbie punches a man on the beach who slaps her butt and then she ends up posing with some LAPD mugshots alsong with Ken. While they were at it, people of the “real world” started to panic when they came to know that a real-life Barbie was walking the streets of L.A. By the looks of the trailer, we can expect to see a fair share of comedy, adventure and emotional moments from the film.
We are all looking forward to seeing an adventure outside and inside Barbie Land and what has got us even more excited is the fact that the film has a star-studded cast. Apart from Robbie and Gosling, the list includes Will Ferrell, Connor Swindells, Nicola Coughlan, Emerald Fennell, Kate McKinnon, Michael Cera, America Ferrera, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Rhea Perlman, Sharon Rooney, Ana Cruz Kayne, Ritu Arya, Jamie Demetriou, Emma Mackey, Dua Lipa, Issa Rae, Hari Nef, Alexandra Shipp, Simu Liu, Scott Evans and Ncuti Gatwa etc. The film is directed by Greta Gerwig known for her well-known films like Little Women, Lady Bird, No Strings attached etc. This time, she serves as a director and co-writer for this film alongside her husband, Noah Baumbach. The film is a co-production by Mattel Films, Heyday Films and Robbie’s LuckyChap Entertainment which just adds on to our excitement for it. The movie is set to be released on 21st July.
